High School Foreign Language

We offer tutoring for French, Spanish, Latin, and German. We also give students an opportunity to practice Spanish or French with conversation partners located in France, the United States, Spain, and Argentina. Spanish, Latin, French, and German

Our team members are accomplished students in the languages they tutor. In addition to learning the languages in academic settings, all of our tutors have either lived in their languages’ countries, or have been raised by speakers of that language. The exception to that, of course, is Latin. Our resident Latin tutor, Andrew, won multiple gold medals on the National Latin Exam, and received a 5 on his Latin AP Exam.

Conversation Partners

In addition to subject tutoring for foreign languages, Tutoring Service of New York has a network of foreign language speakers in the U.S., France, Spain, and Argentina, with whom students can practice their conversational skills. These conversation partners meet with students via Zoom. Though some are professional teachers themselves, these conversation partners are mainly for students who want experience speaking in their foreign language, and may want insight into how native or fluent speakers actually use their language in lived life, rather than in classroom settings.

AP Coursework

In addition to offering subject tutoring for France, Spanish, Latin, and German we also offer tutoring for these languages for AP level coursework, and AP Exams. Many of our foreign language tutors currently reside in the country in which their language is spoken. All of our tutors are deeply familiar with the AP Exam, and have the knowledge and experience necessary to help students with their coursework beyond the end-of-year standardized exams.
