Sparking a Joy of Learning

Building Reading Comprehension
We use a guided, methodical approach to help students improve their reading comprehension. From in-context vocabulary development, to guided reading questions students can use from text to text, we use a variety of techniques to help students better understand what they read, even when their tutor isn’t there.
From Spelling to Sentences
We work with students in all phases of writing development. Whether students need help improving their spelling, or are composing paragraphs, essays, or other pieces of writing, we help students build strong habits and find repeatable techniques for sustained success.
Vocabulary Development
With our tutors, students learn to develop their vocabularies in context. We don’t sit around and drill flashcards. We make use of a variety of activities and techniques that require students to build relationships between words and their definitions. Students learn how to respond to unfamiliar vocabulary in useful ways, and gain experience using new words that will benefit them in their ELA classes and beyond.
